Drive times from Bao’an to the business districts, how transfers connect with the Hong Kong ports, and what late-arrival corporate pickups should include.
Shenzhen is compact by design: the airport sits on the west side, and the two business cores — Futian and Nanshan — are 15–30 minutes away. That makes transfer planning in Shenzhen unusually straightforward, provided the plan accounts for two things: rush hours and border connections.
Opened in 1991 on the east bank of the Pearl River estuary in Bao’an district. All flights use one terminal complex — the T3 main building with its satellite hall — so “which terminal” is never a question here; only check-in islands and gates differ. A third runway entered service in late 2025, and the airport now handles 60 million+ passengers a year, with SKYTRAX five-star airport certification. Its west-side location makes it unusually convenient for both the city’s two business cores and the Hong Kong ports.
